The History of Baccarat

It was much later that Baccarat appeared in casinos. The scheme of the game resembled the ancient one, only the bets were different. In the middle of 20 century, Baccarat was brought to the USA from Britain, and was very popular mainly in South America, where there existed two versions of this game: the European Baccarat and the French Baccarat, also known as Chemin de Fer.
